About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Electrical Engineering with a strong engineering mindset to lead an electrical design team supporting a diverse portfolio of capital projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, people leadership, and project delivery.
You will be responsible for guiding electrical engineering efforts across the full project lifecycle-from early planning and design through execution-while ensuring high-quality, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions. Success in this role requires systems thinking, disciplined execution, and the ability to lead teams through complexity and change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an electrical engineering design team supporting small operational projects through large-scale capital initiatives, applying sound engineering judgment and best practices across all workstreams
- Ensure the timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery of all electrical engineering deliverables, aligned with defined scope, budget, and schedule objectives
- Drive consistent application of applicable codes, industry standards, and internal engineering practices across projects
- Champion fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that balance technical rigor, constructability, safety, and long-term operability
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through the development and adoption of engineering standards, tools, and best practices
- Evaluate team structure and resourcing needs to ensure projects are properly staffed with the right technical expertise at the right time
- Oversee engineering processes, systems, software tools, and quality audits to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams to maintain execution alignment and mitigate project risks
- Contribute to risk assessments, technical reviews, safety initiatives, and cross-discipline coordination efforts
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers, strengthening both technical capability and leadership bench strength
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with 10+ years of engineering experience
- OR
- Master's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience
- Proven experience managing or leading design engineering teams on large, complex projects
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%, domestically and internationally

- Deep technical understanding of electrical engineering systems, design methodologies, and modern engineering technologies
- Working knowledge of industry regulations, design criteria, and applicable engineering standards
- Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multi-discipline interdependencies
- Experience with drawing production, document control, progress measurement, and engineering controls
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Solid understanding of how engineering integrates with procurement, construction, and commissioning throughout the project lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams while providing coaching and technical mentorship
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating complex technical challenges
